Thank You Taker
I'm not going to talk for both me and George, because I can't; but I can speak from the heart and give you an insight to what The Undertaker means to me.
To me, The Undertaker means WrestleMania, and without him I don't know if I'm going to feel the same, had he lost some of his in ring physical ability in the last few years? Yes of course, but the mystique was never gone. The goosebumps when that first gong strikes were never gone. No one has been able to capture an audience like that and completely forget how ridiculous their character really is when you get to the bottom of it.
When I think of The Undertaker I think of classic matches, with Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Stone Cold, Kane, The Rock and so many more greats of this business. When I think The Undertaker I think like a lot of people; I think of that fateful night in 1998 at King of the Ring, as The Undertaker battled Mankind in a Hell in a Cell match that would change both of their careers and their lives. He's tackled many opponents, effortlessly changed gimmicks which would usually be impossible and been a part of 25 WrestleMania's. Wow.
Even thinking to what transpired on Sunday night, Taker will have had the choice of who he faces in his last match and if they go over or not. Vince owes him that much. So Taker chose a younger guy who it could help build a character for in Roman Reigns. So whilst we can all boo Roman, let's all continue cheering, 'Thank You Taker' because over these last 27 years he's entertained a hell of a lot of people.
Thank you Taker. A legend. Then. Now. Forever.
