205 Live Recap: April 4

With a slightly boosted and more up for it crowd than usual, 205 Live has a sense of fun around it this week, a sense of fun that hasn't been around since it's first episode.

Akira Tozawa def. The Brian Kendrick

The Man with a Plan tried his usual antics this week on 205 Live trying to get one over on the Japanese superstar claiming he was poked in the eye, when actually it was a completely legal kick to the gut. Tozawa did not let this deter him as he would have something up his own sleeve, as Tozawa who had been aggressive the whole match, faked an injury reeling Kendrick in. Tozawa gets the win via pinfall in a match with good action.

Rich Swann def. Oney Lorcan

Oney Lorcan's debut was cut short by a top tier performance by Rich Swann who after the match was over revealed that it was him that was sending gifts to Alicia Fox, not Noam Dar like Noam had been claiming, it will be interesting to see how the Scotsman responds to these claims. Rich Swann gets the win via pinfall in a fast past fun match with good action.

Drew Gulak tries to get Mustapha Ali to see things his way

The cruiserweight who resorts to a much more hold based conventional wrestling style you may see from a 240 pounder, tries to get Ali to see things his way, asking Ali to stop using such high octave, high risk moves. Ali looks bewildered as Gulak wanders off.

#1 Contenders Match For Cruiserweight Title - Austin Aries def. TJ Perkins, Mustapha Ali & Jack Gallagher

Before the match we see Neville come down to the ring and cut a promo not dissimilar to the one we saw the night before on Raw before he takes his seat and ringside to scout his opponents. Austin Aries will be the man to get another chance at the purple strap after he knocked off the other 3 competitors in a truly enjoyable contest that left my mouth watering for more. Jack Gallagher was up to his usual antics (as seen above). TJ Perkins started the match off hot but fizzled out, as Aries got the pin over the first Cruiserweight champion.

So that's what happened on this weeks 205 Live, a good show with a lot of fun fast action which is what you would expect to see really, the crowd seemed to get into it more as the night went on and maybe the Cruiserweight division can really push on from this.
